VA Man Accused Of Touching Students With Disabilities Inappropriately On School Bus: Sheriff

A 22-year-old Fredericksburg man is behind bars after allegedly sexually abusing multiple disabled children on a school bus in Spotsylvania, the sheriff's office announced on Saturday.

Miguel Velasquez Velasco has been arrested and charged following an investigation into reports of students that were inappropriately touched on a bus, officials say.

According to a spokesperson from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office, Velasquez Velasco was arrested on Thursday by members of the agency's "Child Victim Unit." 

It is alleged that Velasquez Velasco assaulted three separate children on Sept. 26, with all of his victims being between the ages of 4 and 5. Each of the students had disabilities, they noted.

Velasquez Velasco was charged with eight counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child, two counts of indecent liberties of a child while in a custodial role, and attempted sodomy of a child.

He's being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
